Young patients at Rush University Children's Hospital spent three months exploring the sounds that surrounded them. From heart monitors as rhythm sections to emergency calls as sampled vocals, patients learned to find beauty in the mundane, capturing sounds and transforming them into original compositions. The result is Sound Effects, a full-length compact disc of original music and a remarkable journey that delves the depths of the adolescent hospital experience and finds the music in "everyday" life.
